After Pantone released the color of the year for 2014, Radiant Orchid, I took a poll on Invent Your Image’s Facebook page to see who loved or disliked Radiant Orchid. The buzz results were, 53% loved the color and 47% disliked the color. No need to fret, if you are not fond of Radiant Orchid there are 9 others to choose from.
If you have had a professional color analysis and know your color space or even if you just know you have warm, cool, or neutral skin tone here are how the 10 colors break down.
Radiant Orchid
This color is best suited for cool/neutral skin tones and would look fab on a True or Bright Winter.
Hemlock
This color would look amazing on True, Soft, and Light Summers and appropriate for cool/neutral skin tones.
Placid Blue
Also will work well with cool/neutral skin tones. If you are a Light Spring or True/Light Summer give this color a whirl.
Paloma
This hue is one of the 2 foundational colors for spring 2014. This is a great color to mix with the cool/neutral colors like placid blue, hemlock, violet tulip, and radiant orchid.
Violet Tulip
Another for the cool/neutral color skin tone. I think this would look terrific on a Dark Winter or Bright Winter.
Freesia
Now moving into the warm/neutral color palettes. This vibrant color would be harmonious with a Bright, Light, or True Spring.
Dazzling Blue
This hue is conducive for most skin tones. But if I had to select a color space, I would choose Bright Spring/Winter.
Sand
This is the foundational color on the warm/neutral side of the color wheel and will mix best with the freesia, cayenne, celosia orange, and dazzling blue. True & Bring Spring would look radiant in Sand.
Cayenne
This spicy hue is best suited for warm skin tones like a True Spring/Autumn.
Celosia Orange
Also best worn by an individual with a warm skin tone, True Spring/Autumn.
